The video from Paint Pour 2012
I was asked to supervise a Paint Pour – one of the interactive art exhibits at an elementary school Art Festival. At the last minute I thought it would be kind of cool to film the kids doing their thing. This video was shot with the Nikon D90 and edited in Vegas. What I love about this art is the simplicity of it. The natural, quiet and seemingly random beauty that happened in the midst of a very excited and chaotic environment. The art seemed to grab everyone’s attention – most people just couldn’t look away. In the end, dozens of kids got to take part in a piece of art and see, in real time, what people thought of it. It was awesome to be a part of. Last week some good friends of mine asked me to supervise a paint pour with a bunch of elementary students at an art fair. At the last minute I thought I thought about shooting some video and stills. Here’s a sample – the video will come later. It was a lot of fun and the kids couldn’t get enough of it – many of them came back again and again and again! Come to think of it, I’ll have to do this again…
