When I get behind the camera – everything else disappears. The bills, the responsibilities, the deadlines. Photography is relaxing because it’s not about me – it’s all about what’s in the lens.
I love to capture people playing, hanging out, just being themselves. If I see something that would make a great shot – I may step in with some minimal direction but otherwise I consider myself a lifestyle photographer, capturing images and moments with a photo journalistic style. Although I will shoot in color – the search for a good black and white is my passion.
On Family Photography:
I enjoy capturing family moments and what it’s like to be a kid. Grabbing those special seconds between parent and child or catching a kid just being a kid can be both exhilarating, remarkable and hysterical all at the same time. I love to see life the way a child sees it. And being a parent myself, I love to capture a parents love and awe for their children.
On Children’s Photography:
For the last ten years I have made a living as a children and family entertainer. As a result, I have met tens of thousands of kids who continue to show me fresh new ways of looking at things. Now it’s time to turn the tables and put them in the spot light.
On Nature Photography:
There is something so simple and yet so complicated about the smallest things in our world. To step back from the chaotic demands of life and just focus on a leaf or flower or simply watch animals go about their day can offer a tremendous breath of fresh air. Thanks to my trusty camera, I get to share that moment of happiness with the rest of the world.
